Pastors Michael and Detra Carter are senior pastors of Abundant Life Family Worship Center. Pastor Michael and Detra answered the call to become senior pastors in the fall of 2009, and are excited about the journey God has them on. While their firm belief is that you cannot start a church on an emphasis alone, they are drawn to evangelizing the community to bring the lost into the kingdom, and also to equip the Christian to live a life of overcoming. No matter what has come against you, your fate is not set by the enemy! Once you have been born again, you are royalty.

Pastors Michael and Detra were Worship Pastors at Life Church in Bloomington, Indiana for 7 years, and also served as elders. While Abundant Life is not part of a denomination, the church is part of minister's fellowship international in Portland, OR. In addition, Pastor Mike is accountable to Pastor Phillip Amandola of Life Church.

Together, Pastors Michael and Detra teach the unobstructed word of God without compromise, and cling to integrity and truth while doing so. The pastors believe in team ministry, and are working very hard to build a solid, biblically based leadership team.

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in Business Science and Religious Studies. Pastor Detra is a graduate of Butler University and Indiana University and holds a master's degree in vocal performance. They have 5 children; 4 girls and 1 boy.
